Host, producer, writer, activist, humanitarian and model are all titles that can be used to describe 27-year-old Alexi Panos, who is constantly redefining what it means to be a triple threat! Through a multitude of platforms, Alexi has proven to be a witty and charming personality that brings integrity, adventure, compassion and fun to everything she does! Whether it be creating, producing and hosting an adventure travel show or building a sustainable clean water well in Africa, Alexi brings to her work a wealth of experience born from a life of traveling the world and working professionally in a broad range of entertainment and media fields. Alexi has hosted various television projects, graced the pages of numerous magazines, walked the runways of Fashion Week, published a book, took the stage at Caroline’s Comedy Club in NYC, and lent her voice to two multi-platinum albums. She’s hosted numerous local and national television series, and is about to take the helm at HGTV on their new series “Run My Makeover.” With all of her industry experience, Panos decided to create her own production company, LXE Productions, to house the various shows she’s created At a young age, Alexi enjoyed family travel to exciting destinations; but it was not until she was signed to a major record label at 18 and performed on a world music tour that she developed a passion for travel and the experiences and knowledge she gained from it. As the tour came to a close, Alexi was emotionally affected by the extreme poverty, hunger and disease that was so eminent and overwhelming throughout the developing regions of the world. She decided that instead of just noticing the problem and going back to her everyday life, she was going to do something about it. Enter the birth of E.P.I.C. E.P.I.C. (Everyday People Initiating Change) was started by Alexi and her friend Tennille De Freitas, who took their compassion and ambition and molded it into what has now become a worldwide supported cause. Through the fusion of arts, spirit, compassion and goodwill, E.P.I.C. is changing the lives of the people in the developing world by providing them with a vital lifeline: clean water. E.P.I.C.’s first clean water well, built in the summer of 2007 in Kawe, Tanzania, is only the beginning of the fight to end people’s suffering from a lack of one of the most basic needs in life. (For more information on E.P.I.C. and how you can help, please visit E.P.I.C.'s Homepage. Starting E.P.I.C. was just the first step in guiding Alexi on her path. By becoming more globally conscious and active, Alexi began to realize her potential in commanding an audience, making people laugh, raising awareness, and bringing light to things often left in the dark. It was in these moments that she decided that music wasn’t the right creative avenue for her it was television and film. Through these outlets, Alexi has been able to assume the role she plays best: herself. She is able to work on both sides of the camera creating exhilarating television shows as well as producing thought-provoking documentaries. She now combines her love of travel, knowledge, humanity, adventure and consciousness in all that she does. |
